In the beginning.... 10/8/02
Well, it finally happened. We got too big for our britches. So....we got new britches! Or we just patched the old ones. This is an extesion of our initial Santouseiji Bishounen/Biseinen Harem because we started getting waaaaaaaay too much anime to fit on one page.
So here is more anime, more bishounen, more biseinen, more craziness. And more of Me!!! Otome, your friendly Santouseiji narrator. Just don't get me riled or I'll gnaw on your kneecaps. ^_^
Now, this page is going to take a while to put together, so please bear with me.
Well. I've been doing a lot of work on the original harem lately, so I apologize for this one being so behindhand. It'll probably be that way for a while. ^.^' I know I'm evil and lazy, but I can't help it. I have to move and find a job, after all. Gotta find some way to pay off all those student loans.
Today's thoughts:
Uh...to be honest, I have nothing profound to say today about anime. Except how much I HATE some dubs. Well, most aren't that bad (I have to admit that I actually like Yuu Yuu Hakusho dubbed, which says a lot, and I am slightly hooked on DBZ, much to my dismay)...but I was watching Rurouni Kenshin dubbed, and it just was gettnig under my skin. Not for the voices per se, but for the emphasis they put on the things they had to keep in Japanese. Frankly, if you're going to say something in Japanese, why not actually say it like you have some moderate grasp of the language?
For instance - today's episode was Kenshin learning Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki. If you've seen it in Japanese, you know how the emphasis on the syllables in Ama Kakeru go. If not, I'll try to have it come across with caps.

a-MA-ka-KE-ru (English dub - Hiko)
That's just almost entirely BACKWARDS. Oh, and Kuzu Ryu Sen was butchered too. How, you might ask? Damned if I know! It's only a few syllables, but they really made it sound weird. And I know that in the Western world, we say surnames last, but they don't do that in Japan. But they switch 'em in dubs. So Sagara Sanosuke becomes Sanosuke Sagara.
Oh lord, the names. First off, they keep saying "Sagara" (Japanese pronounciation is "SAH-ga-rah") like it's a tobacco product - "suh-GAR-a". And as for Sanosuke, they shorten the "a" in "Sano" so it sounds like he's some sanitary product. And poor Saitoh - his first name gets butchered into "Ha-JIIIIIIIIIII-me". Okay, not quite THAT bad, but it loses the forward emphasis (Japanese: HAH-ji-me).
Sigh. I think I should become a voice actor so some things can be done RIGHT. But then, that would probably only confuse people.

2.18.03 Update! Whee!! My sister had her baby today!!!!! I'm an Aunt! Okay, I'm done. I added a Majutsushi Orphen (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen) page....I know I ought to do the other ones first, but I saw this and yeah...

Okay, I updated the Opinions and Reviews page with X - the Movie and Majutsushi Orphen. Hopefully I'll get to see more soon. Oh, and I should put up Mahou Tsukai Tai! just as soon as I remeber...but now I have to go make dinner...

Gahd, it's so weird to be writing 03 instead of 02. Anyway, you know how half of this page says "coming soon" ? I have to say that soon is a misleading term...well, I suppose on a geological time scale it will be soon, but that's not much help either. Anyway, let me put it this way: 19 credits, two jobs, last semetser of undergrad. Anything I do with anime this semester will probably involve work on ours instead of the galleries. I apologize! I really need to get a scanner so I can put my sketches of our anime up...not that enough people would give feedback or anything... -_-'
12.23.02 Update! Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Joyous Kwanzaa, etc. I just realized I never put a link up for the Opinions and Reviews page. Currently, it has Jikuu Tenshou Nazca and Master of Mosquiton (the OVA) and as soon as I'm done with this, I'll put up Bastard!!

10/13/02 Update! Okay. I'm getting severely annoyed by everything and i've spent enough time avoiding my homework already. I put up some more on the Fruits Basket page, but a bunch of the images are being jerks and not working. So I'll try to get it fixed maybe in the next couple weeks...gomen nasai!
10/10/02 Update! Well, I started working on the Fruits Basket page. Currently, Haru ad Shigure have pics up...but a few of Shigure's aren't working, so I'll tweak 'em later. Right now I have to stop so I can get sleep tonight.
10-9-02 For now, the only page thats' operational is Angel Sanctuary. The others are open links but they'll just take you to the page that says "Dumbass! There is no such page!" SO don't try to use 'em yet. ^_^
