Well it's been a year since I last had some sort of written update, now I have one, but it's nothing that I'm proud of...  Last wednesday (6/18/03) I was driving home and about 15 minutes into the trip I hear a loud popping sound and what sounded like pieces falling off my car, or atleast flying around in my engine compartment.  Just seconds after this horrific noise all the lights on the instrument panel lit up and she died.  I lost power steering and the brakes were stiff and nearly unresponsive.  To make a long story short it took me about a quarter of a mile to slow her down, but I was going too fast to turn on the gravel road at the bottom of the hill so I ended up hitting the shoulder at about 25 mph and since I had no steering I ended up about 20 feet from the road in a ditch.  Smoke was everywhere, my poor girl wouldn't start and it was 3:00 a.m.  The next day a tow truck dropped my SHO off at the mechanic's shop that my family frequents, quite often I must say, as unfortunate as that may sound and after the guys looked over it, I was told that she threw a rod straight through the block.  To a guy who loves his car as much as me, this was like someone punching me in the stomach.  To say the least I was bummed.
We are going to try to replace it, the guys found a used SHO engine in Wisconsin and are having it delivered....after everything is said and done, the job will cost around $2800.  Which, even though this is a good deal of money, I would rather it be this way than me having to sell her.

 

Well I have had the car back for a good 2 months now and she has a new engine and seems to be running much better.  The whole operation was $3660.  No more burning oil, no more bad clutch (that also got replaced along with the engine).  Everything seems to be going good for her now.  I also am going to get a good paying job soon (I hope) so there will be some mods in the near future that you can look forward to reading about haha.  I also found some pictures of her, so they are below.  I will keep everyone posted on new updates as they come....until then happy SHOing!
