** Guard and hunting cave pigs are boars trained to act as guard or hunting animals.  Riding cave pigs are male cave pigs trained for riding.  Only males are large enough to carry a goblin or dwarf but large females can carry a kobold, xvart, or gnome, though no one in Menzoberranzan trains sows for this task for obvious reasons.  War boars are boars trained for riding in combat (like a warhorse).  A war boar trained to act as a guard or hunting animal as well costs at least 5 times as much as a normal war boar.  Only males are ever trained as combat animals.  There are only a couple duergar trainers resident in Menzoberranzan and most trained war boars come from trade with shield dwarves.

'Shroomberry Wine, pint* 1 cp
(Fungal) Wine, common, pint 3 sp
(Fungal) Wine, good, pint 10 sp
(Fungal) Wine, poor, pint 1 sp

* 'Shroomberry wine isn't wine at all, but a noxious mixture of water and alcohol meant to sterilize it (most vintages have additional, incidental ingredients as well).  It often has a vinegar taste as spoiled spirits are used or it is mixed with the dregs of a large variety of alcohols.  The poor usually drink it to ensure they have healthy water (as so much water in the city is of questionable health).  Apparently, a taste can be developed for it, though most nobles and upper class people will instead state it simply kills all taste after too frequent consumption.  An old noble custom that's no longer practiced is to challenge a member of a rival house to drink a pint or two and see if they can hold it down.  Now such a suggestion is merely considered a direct insult (no socially conscious person in the city drinks the stuff, including all nobles and priestesses, regardless of rank).  This noxious mixture will only act as very weak alcohol on those who consume it or if used against cave fisher line and the like (requires 2-10 times the usual amount of wine to have an effect).
Two blends of 'shroomberry wine (those of the Black Thunder Brewery and House Intringa) are known for a couple other properties as well.  First, it can hide the taste of most known ingestive poisons.  It also "curdles" when mixed with most insinuative poisons (especially the most common ones in the city--those of snakes, spiders, and scorpions).  This "curdled" mixture is actually palatable (but bland) to those immune to the poison mixed in it (for example, duergar can drink this mixture if a non-natural poison is used) but for those the poison would effect it acts as a stinking cloud (the nausea lasts during the round drunk and the round after if the save is made).  Curdled 'shroomberry [from these sources] is always safe from any ingestive poisons.  Only by dealing with these groups directly or through request can one of these vintages be obtained.

* Dwarven metalwork always costs 20-50% higher before any other adjustments.

** Only everbright fishhooks are used in the city (and thus commonly available).

*** Real wood costs 3-5x as much.

a Other (un)holy symbols (and other religious items such as unholy water fonts and basins) are not openly available and may be difficult to find as well as more expensive.  The same applies to holy water.

b One bottle of spell ink is good for writing 10 levels of spells in spell books and is the base substance for most scroll inks.  Cantrips count as 1st level spells for this purpose.

c A sheet can hold only one spell as a scroll if used for that purpose.  A true scroll can hold up to seven spells if used for that purpose.

d Dwarven work is usually at least 10-20% stronger.

e An oversized spellbook is actually a massive tome that's difficult to move.  It is usually bound in leather or scaled leather over copper or brass cover plates.  The book will be 24" tall, 18" wide, and 6" thick.  It has the same number of pages as a standard spellbook but requires 1/2 as many pages to hold a spell (double # of spells by level the book can hold from a standard spellbook).  Many of these tomes have even more expensive and exotic construction.

Slaves:

Only slaves with established average prices are listed.  Rare slaves will be sold at auction and so do not have a "common" price.  Such slaves include drow, dwarves, and other rare races as well as unique specialties like alchemists.  In the following table prices are listed for average adult males of the race, with adult females generally costing 1/2 as much unless listed otherwise, and young costing 1/3 the price of an adult (so a young female costs 1/6 as much).  Skills are also listed with their values listed as multipliers of the base price for that race (creatures with a skill are considered equal to a character with that secondary skill).  No average slave will have more than one skill (most have none).  Adult males are assumed to be trained in combat as are any listed females.

*Dwarven metalwork always cost at least 20-50% more before any adjustments for treatments, special work, and so on.  All wooden (and part wood) items are assumed to use funguswood, real wood items cost 3-5x as much.  Real wood clubs and spiked clubs are not available.

** These items are exceptionally rare in Menzoberranzan as they are svirfneblin work.  Most are sold by noble houses, hunters, or the Academy, who [presumably] got them from svirfneblin bands they battled.  Svirfneblin special darts are overlarge and delicate and so have their rate of fire reduced by 1 per round (2 per round, though those specialized in dart will be able to do better).  The fine daggers and horseman's military picks are +1 nonmagical weapons and of high enough quality that they can be enchanted.  They are made of fine steel.

*** Crude broad swords (of which the falchion is simply a type that can also be used for thrusting) are cheaply available at 5-8 gp cost.
