Miscellanious KD

Miscellanious BS. Rapping (by definition miscellanious bs? ;) ), anything I might one day scrape together about his comedy and the other things I couldn't find a place for while moving in. *kicks boxes out of the way* Also, please, please, please, anybody out there who's seen the guy live, email me and tell me more, whether it's about theatre, music or anything else.

Rapping

Just found this GREAT interview about his musical tastes and other stuff. Check out Great Big Dog". I never knew he had Irish in him for one... Hmmmh, I've been slack, missing something as fun (and really funny, too, I was laughing as I read parts of it) as this before.

To quote the 30 Odd Foot of Grunts' Gaslight album list of songs and descriptions of them:

TRACK 9 - NOWHERE
(Crowe/Rap - Kevin Durand)
"Recorded at Hollywood Sound by Bryan Davis. Mix by Bryan. I had this tone poem that came out of a conversation with a girl in Louisville Ky who wanted to go to L.A. just 'cause it was L.A. - it meant so much to her but she had never been there, she had no true concept of the city at all. It just got me thinking of the magnetic force of the invisible city. I bought some loop CD's. Scotty G plays the Hammond B3, the Mighty Tree lays the Quebecois Rap, Monkey Boy also sings high. Dean on guitar, Bryan. 'Bruno the Aspro Boy' on Bass, sequencing by Ryan Bocsch."

Quebecois Rap? Calling him "The Mighty Tree" is a nice touch though, seeing as Durand thanked John Biebe as his mentor on The Adventures of Tom Sawyer cast list page. If you don't recognize the name John Biebe, you might want to check out the Mystery Alaska section. I find the whole thing extremely sweet.

If you're looking for the Austin gig-comments, they've been moved to the Live Gallery.

Comedy

Nothing for now. Tell me more, I want to know. Anything, good or bad? What I've read (IMDB) says he was one of the funniest new comedians in Canada in 1994 so SOMEBODY out there must've seen his material. I crave to know... Mystery, Alaska production information also says "A multi-year participant at the prestigious Charlottetown Festival, Durand was named one of Canada’s funniest new comedians in 1994" so get to it, tell me more. Puhleeeze?

June, 2003 update

Patience really is a virtue when it comes to this guy. I got some answers about the comedy finally, so big thanks as usual. What I can say for now is that he started doing stand-up already when he was 15, entered a competition in his hometown and won. He did comedy gigs now and then until that national competition it seems, after which he decided he needed to focus on his passion for acting. Apparently he even got an offer to tour but he turned it down.

Anything else?

Here's a pic I found from DarkAngeltv.com's Forum, one hailing from the CultTimes magazine as it seems. Big one of Jensen Ackles, one of the Pretty Boy faces from the show, smaller pic of Kevin in the corner. Once I get access to graphics programs again I'll edit it a bit. Ackles is too much of a babyface for my liking and since his character Alec was a bit too much of a smart-A, he'll get axed eventually.
