"Micki! I just don't get it, " I complained to Micki, as I collapsed on her couch.
"I'm sorry. Maybe he's just stressed, from tour," Micki suggested.
"Maybe," I sighed. It was really bothering.
"On a better note, when will Daniel be in?"she asked.
"He will be here tomorrow morning. A taxi will be bring him tomorrow," I answered.
Micki smiled, "Excited?"
I felt ashamed, "Kinda." I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be.
"Well, we better get our beauty sleep so we can look beautiful tomorrow. Night Night." Micki said, prancing off to her room.
I walked to her guest room and laid down. But, I didn't sleep very well. When I finally drifted off to sleep, I was thinking of... Nick.
I woke up early and looked at the clock, it was 7:50. I grumbled and got up. Daniel would be here in an hour. I took a shower and put on a pair of orange Abercrombie and Fitch Paratroops and a white Abercrombie tank top and my sandals. I put my makeup on, and put my hair in a neat, high ponytail.
By the time I was eating breakfast, Micki staggered out of bed. "Well, don't you look radiant?"
I giggled, "Too bad I can't say the same about you."
Micki gave me a dirty look, then laughed, lightly. "I'm going to go get ready." She staggered back to her room. I laughed and the doorbell rang. It was Daniel. I opened the door and smiled.
"Hey! You look good." Daniel exclaimed, he looked okay. He looked tired though. His dark hair was flat and his green eyes were cloudy. I looked past him, and some guy was standing behind him.
"Hi Daniel. Uh, who's that?" I asked.
"Oh, my brother, Luke, I hope you don't mind," Daniel replied.
After a slight introduction, Daniel leaned in to kiss me and I moved and kissed him on the cheek. Daniel looked mad, but I shrugged it off. I introduced the two to Micki.
"He's cute." Micki whispered.
I nodded.
"Let's go to dinner tonight." Micki suggested, "Nick and the guys could come."
I glared at her. That was not the greatest idea. "How about just us?" I asked, hoping Micki wouldn't insist.
"No, no. Meg, let's invite Nick and the guys. You talk so much about them, and Nick is one of your best friends. I want to meet him," Daniel objected.
I smiled weakly, and nodded.
"Call and make the arrangements," Micki prodded.
"Will do." I mumbled, "Micks, can you come with me for a sec, I need to talk girl stuff with you."
Micki knew what the 'girl stuff' was, but followed me into my room. "What were you thinking? Nick and Daniel in the same room? Nick hates Daniel and doesn't even know him!" I whispered, so Daniel or Luke wouldn't hear.
"That's why I did it. So Nick can see that Daniel is a good guy," Micki replied.
"Micki! Daniel, well, he's not a people person. He can make someone mad real easy, " I protested.
"Megan, it's too late. Just call and get it over with," Micki ordered, and walked out of the room.
I sat on my chair and dialed Nick's number. He answered, panting. "What are you doing?" I greeted.
"I just got back, I went to the park and played some ball," Nick answered.
"Oh, well, you and the guys are coming to dinner with us tonight. Can you let the other guys know? Six-thirty tonight, at the steakhouse," I said.
"Is Daniel gonna be there?" Nick asked.
"Uhh... yeah," I said.
"I don't want to go," Nick replied, stubbornly.
I sighed, "Please, for me?"
I heard Nick mutter something, "Only for you. I'll see you later." And, we hung up. I could tell this evening wasn't going to be... perfect.
