Chapter Five

"Nick! Im hardly ready!" I exclaimed as he practically dragged me out of the car. I was exhausted from work all day.

"Micki, stop bitching and come on. You look fine," he rolled his eyes. I looked at myself in a car window as we walked towards the movies and I straightened my hair. Nick grabbed my hair and dragged me along. I had to change at work from my uniform to my tiny black leather skirt and yellow leather triangle top.

"You dress like you should be with AJ," Nick commented as we stood in line for the movies.

"Should I take that as a compliment or was that yet another way for you to insult me?" I spat.

"It was a compliment," he sighed.

"Well... thank you," I said.

"Two for..." Nick began. He looked down at me and shrugged.

"I dont know. AJ didnt tell me what movie they were seeing," I said.

"Yeah, Amber didnt say either," Nick said.

"Can you hurry up?" a snotty girl that looked about 16 hissed at us.

"You can wait," I rolled my eyes at her. I didnt say it loud enough for her to hear, but I wish I had.

"Are you Nick Carter?" her mood suddenly changed.

"Uh, yeah," he chuckled nervously.

"Oh my G-D! Can I have your autograph?" she smiled.

"Uh, sure. Let me buy our tickets first," he stressed the "our".

She looked at me and glared.

"Why is whenever I go anywhere with any of you guys I get nothing but glares?" I whispered.

"Because they wish they were in your position," Nick answered.

"Yeah, well..." I sighed.

"Just give me two tickets for any show that starts soon," Nick gave up.

"Here," the woman shoved two tickets at us in exchange for our money.

Nick and I started to walk off.

"Hey! I want my autograph!" the girl called. Nick sighed.

"Gotta pen?" he asked.

"Yeah, here," she said handing him a pen and a piece of paper. Nick scribbled on the paper and handed it to her.

"See you around," Nick said and smiled.

"Thanks," she said smiling.

"No problem. Ready baby?" Nick asked looking past me. I turned around and followed his gaze. I turned back and smiled.

"Of course baby," I smiled and took his hand. We walked into the theater and handed the guy or tickets. We automatically got in line for popcorn and drinks.

"I wonder what movie they're gonna see?" I asked looking outside, where AJ and Amber were buying their tickets.

"I hope it's the same one as ours," Nick sighed and we moved forward a little in the line. We saw AJ and Amber walking into the theater. We quickly turned around and our hands came together.

"You know, you're a great actress," Nick whispered, looking up at the 'menu'.

"Thanks. I try. You're not so bad yourself, honey," I giggled.

"Nick? Micki?" we heard. We turned around and a fake look of surprise was plastered on our faces.

"AJ! Amber! Wow, we werent expecting you two here," I smiled brightly.

"Nick, you knew we were coming," Amber said looking at Nick, ignoring me.

"Yeah, well... it was my idea, not his," I smiled. She shot me a dirty look and grasped AJ's hand tighter. I noticed this and felt like hitting her.

So, grasped Nick's hand tighter. I smiled and Nick and I turned around.

"Well, what movie are you two seeing Mickel?" AJ asked. Amber shot him a look. Guess she doesnt like the nickname.

"Uh..." the truth was I had no clue.

"Rocky and Bullwinkle," Nick answered smiling.

"Us too!" AJ smiled.

"You?! You are seeing Rocky and Bullwinkle? Willingly?" I asked shocked.

"Yeah, well.. I wanted to see it," Amber shot me another dirty look. Man, this bitch is gonna get a beat down.

"Oh," I sighed and turned back around.

Nick and I got popcorn and a soda to share. Yeah, I know sharing something, but it just made it look like we didnt care and made the whole 'we're going out now' story even more believeable.

"Somehow we have to have them go into that theater first. Then we can invite ourselves to sit by them," I whispered.

"Go to the bathroom," Nick ordered pointing to the bathroom.

"What about you?" I asked.

"Im just waiting for you," he smiled and I nodded. I walked into the bathroom and just went straight for the mirror. I was satisfied with my appearance. I sighed and smoothed down my hair.

"Oh, hello Micki," a female voice said from next to me. I looked over and saw Amber smoothing down her own blonde hair.

"Hi Amber. AJ waiting for you?" I asked smiling, hoping he wasnt.

"No, he went to find us a seat. Unlike Nick, who you've got stuck up your ass," she commented.

"I was just thinking the same thing about you and AJ. You know Amber, you and I have something in common. We should hang out sometime. You know talk about boys and stuff," I said sarcastically. Ok, well it was good that it appeared Nick and I werent faking it.

"Yeah, and I could tell you what you should really do with your hair," she smiled.

"Yeah, and I could tell you what diet would work best for you," I snapped and walked out of the bathroom to find Nick impatiently waiting.

I grabbed his hand and we walked into the theater.

"AJ's up there," Nick whispered. I had taken the soda and I sipped it.

"Great, let's get up there before Amber," I sighed and took off up the stairs to the very top.

"AJ, hey, didnt see you up here," I smiled.

"Hey Mickel," he smiled. I took a seat next to AJ and smiled.

Nick sat next to me and sighed.

"You're little girlfriend is really mean," I whispered.

"Huh?" he asked.

I explained to him what happened in the bathroom.

Nick chuckled.

"It's not funny Nick, she's gonna make this really hard," I scolded him. He stopped laughing. AJ looked at us and narrowed his eyes.

"AJ!" Amber called. AJ looked at her and waved.

"Come down here, honey," she whined.

AJ looked at us and shrugged. He got up and went down where Amber was calling him. I rolled my eyes.

"Damnit Nick! She's making it so hard," I growled.

"I know, it's not my fault though," he said.

"I know. Sorry," I mumbled.

"Hmm... well this has become worthless," Nick said sitting back.

"I know. Maybe we should just go home. They're going to avoid us all night," I said pouting.

"Yeah, maybe Kirsten's 'party' is when something will happen Nick agreed.

"Let's go," I said standing up. Nick and I got up and began to leave the theater.

"Micki!" I heard. I stopped as Nick and I were about to walk out.

I turned around and saw AJ jogging after me.

"I'll go get the car," Nick said and walked off.

"Hey Alex, what's up?" I asked. I smiled as the thought of me being the only one allowed to call him Alex filled my mind. I know it was cheesy, but it made me feel special.

"Where are you two going?" he asked.

"We're just gonna go to my place and hang out," I smiled, but lied. Nick and I would just do our own thing tonight. The thought of hanging out with Nick didnt appeal to me at all.

"Oh, well maybe me and Amber will stop by after the movie or something," he suggested.

"UM, ok, sure. You're going to Kirsten's party, right?" I asked grinning. Thinking of exactly what I wanted to do to AJ.

"Uh, yeah. Amber kinda doesnt want to go though," he sighed.

"Well you better be. This is so we can all get together and just hang out," I scolded.

"Yeah, I know. I dont want to lose your friendship," AJ whispered.

"Huh? AJ, what are you talking about. You're not going to," I said confused.

"It's just... I dont know. I really like Amber and she doesnt want me to..."

"AJ! Come on!" Amber said walking up to him. I glared at her. What was he going to say?

"The movie's starting. Good-bye Micki," she glared and dragged AJ away from me.

How could Nick like such a bitch anyways? How could AJ like that bitch. I walked out of the theater and saw Nick waiting in his Durango for me. I climbed into the passenger seat and looked at him.

"We're hanging out at my place," I told him.

"Ok... we're not really hanging out together, right? Just telling them that, right?" he asked.

"Unfortunately, we're hanging out together. They might stop by after the movie," I sighed.

"What about the club?" he asked.

"Good question," I rolled my eyes.

*Two Hours Later*

"Nick! You are getting on my nerves!" I yelled at him. He had been bitching since the second we walked in the door. I had a spliting headache from it and I just wanted him to go home and leave me alone.

Just then the doorbell rang.

"Will you get that honey?" I asked smiling but rolling my eyes at the same time.

"Sure darling," he said sarcastically. I watched him walk to the door and his body moved in a certain way, that left me staring. As soon as I realized what I was doing I looked away and blushed. Good thing he could see me.

Nick swung open the door. I looked past him and saw AJ standing there, smiling and Amber looking pissed.

"Hey guys!" AJ said walking past Nick inside. Nick smiled at Amber shyly.

"This is all your fault Nick," she spat.

"What?" he asked.

"Can I talk to you in the kitchen?" she asked.

"Ok," he nodded.

"Hey AJ," I smiled as he sat next to me on the couch.

"Help me," he whispered. I giggled.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"She's been so bitchy today. I dont know what's wrong with her," he sighed.

"Oh, Im sorry," I said sounding sypathetic.

"I dont know. As soon as we got to the movies, her mood turned for the worse," he sighed.

"Why?" I asked.

"I dont know. I think she's jealous that you and Nick are together. It kinda makes me mad though because she shouldnt care that you two are together," he sighed. I frowned.

"Is that how you feel?" I whispered.

"Huh?" he asked looking up.

"Nothing. Honey! Can you bring me a coke?" I called to Nick. I watched AJ's facial expression. Nothing. Damnit, why do they make it so hard?
