I'm the author of a page for gay men who find special interest in "bears"....Your site wants to make me hug a bear!
--Dave

WOW!!...I, myself, have certainly been more inspired to do the right thing and (perhaps) "act up"
--Ken

I live in France....I'm uranian and I thank you once more because I've always been sure there was a good word to qualify what we actually are: human beings

On Aug. 28, 2000, I will be hosting a 50th-birthday party for my lover of 16 years....Sharing in the celebration for a sam-sex-couple will be gay folks, straight folks, bisexual folks, asexual folks, people from all walks of life and every political and philosophical persuasion. It is because of people like Ulrichs that such a celebration is even POSSIBLE today! And interestingly enough, my lover is also a German by descent...Among the many toasts that evening [there] will be a toast to Karl Ulrichs!
--Ted

--Jim

I hope it will open minds and hearts to know that this whole "gay movement" thing is not something recent in history but rather is as old as history itself
--Tim

Hey there! Thanks for the invitation, but I'm in Australia. I'm a bit too far away. Damn!
Anyway I wanted to write something for your Memory Book:
People, please don't bash your brains in over being gay. It is the most natural thing in existence. There are many pseudo moralists that rape us with their crap. These rape machines will destroy themselves with their own hate, a little process called the "natural selection process," lol. They believe touching another human being, especially same sex is wrong. Hahaaaaa what a load of shit!! I don't understand why loving another human being is wrong. I don't understand why touching someone is wrong. I believe that touching is part of that language known as body language. A natural thing of life. Sex being the most intimate, to tell someone how much you love them. People, that "riddle of nature" is no longer a riddle; it is just part of those good things in life. What do I say to pseudo moralists? We weren't born with enough middle fingers!!! Love all of ya. Keep kicking people's shit in their own faces

Thanks SO MUCH for this information...Ulrichs, about whom I knew a little, comes to life. I'll definitely pass this on
--John

It is a bit dry to read Ulrichs' letters, but I DO hear his passion and his committment...I am re-reading them and am slowly beginning to hear his voice....By the way, I think he would make a wonderful subject for a play. What do you think? Let me know
--Michael

Ese hombre fue genial!!! No solo mostró valentía admitiendo que era gay pùblicamente; si no que también luchó por los derechos de nosotros. Ya quisiera yo poder hablar con mi familia como él lo hizo!! [This man was genial. He showed courage not only by admitting publicly that he was Gay, but also by demanding Gay rights. If only I could talk to my family as he did!]

PNASH...has conseguido un admirador, me gustan las personas de las cuales puedo aprender algo, aquellas que ayudan a ampliar mis horizontes e enriquecer mis metas [P. Nash...you have an admirer; I like people I can learn from, who can widen my horizons and (help) reach my goals]
--Jose

What incredible strength of character it takes to be a pioneer. Italy seems to have always had a liberating effect on Englishmen and Germans, i.e., J.J. Wincklemann and Ronald Firbank
--Jeffrey

#478
I am glad that someone who is from Jacksonville is not afraid to be honest with their sexuality
--Randy

Really got into it...I am just an ignorant punk...But hey, thru web pages like yours I am learning to accept my gayness without shame. And that means the world to me
--Cecil

Thanks for the brilliant work of recovering our history. The hard work is likely not to have been well compensated, but your reward lies 25 years out or more...Have you considered setting yourselves up as "travel agents" or "tour guides" for US citizens who want to go to the party?
--Mitch

#523
I am surprised to know that people were fighting over the issue so many years ago!
--Michael

#540
Thanks for sending the webpage about Ulrichs! I never knew about him, and I so wish they would teach this in school...He's a great positive influence and role model
--Leo
