GM Garry Kasparov against ...
The Rest Of The World
A few years ago, The Microsoft
Corporation sponsored a unique match.
Every day, you could vote on the move that we (R.O.W.) would make
against the World Champion. The popularity of this event was virtually
unprecedented. Historically, this game is very important to the overall
development of chess and chess computers.
- This match - technically - is NOT a human vs. computer
match-up. But! ...
- This match was played on the Internet - in virtual hyper-space - so I
thought
I would cover it here.
- Computers played a VERY large part in the analysis, and even in helping
the
human team of advisors choose their move, so I thought it would be
appropriate
to cover this match (game) on this web site.
- Plus ... the resources and books today are fairly few - and mostly
unavailable on
this subject. This is another good reason why I should cover this match.

This is the base, un-annotated score. Later, I
will have at least the lightly annotated version.
This game has a story behind every move. I could build a very detailed web site,
with just some
of the day-by-day accounts. (I have three whole notebooks full of notes on this
game.)
I need your help. Click here
to find out how you can keep this
a web site that everyone can enjoy.
