บทที่ 3 Present Continuous Tense

วัตถุประสงค์
 หลังจากศึกษาเนื้อหาในเรื่อง Present Continuous Tense  แล้วนักศึกษาเข้าใจและสามารถตอบคำถามในเรื่องต่อไปนี้ได้ถูกต้อง
                   1. รูปกริยาที่ใช้กับ present continuous tense
                  2. โครงสร้าง  present continuous tense
                  3. หลักการใช้ present continuous tense

Present Continuous Tense

โครงสร้างของประโยค present continuous tense
 

ประธาน +( is, am, are) + present participle

 
 I am watching TV now.
ฉันกำลังดูโทรทัศน์
 She is watching TV now.
หล่อนกำลังดูโทรทัศน์

ลักษณะประโยค present continuous tense

  subject  be   present participle  
ประโยคบอกเล่า I am   speaking to her.
You are   reading this book.
ประโยคปฏิเสธ She is not staying in Thailand.
We are not playing basketball.
ประโยคคำถาม Is he   watching movie?
Are they   waiting for you?

 

หลักการใช้  Present Continuous Tense

 

 
อดีต ขณะนี้ อนาคต


ใช้กล่าวถึงการกระทำหรือเหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในขณะที่พูด
 

Tom is studying English grammar.
ทอมกำลังศึกษาไวยากรณ์อังกฤษ

บางครั้งเราใช้ present continuous tense กล่าวถึงการกระทำในช่วงเวลาในปัจจุบัน
 Are you still working for the same company?

คุณยังคงทำงานที่บริษัทเดิมหรือเปล่า
         

 

 

อดีต

 ปัจจุบัน อนาคต

ใช้กล่าวถึงเหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้ได้
 

 

 I'm meeting my boyfriend tonight

 ฉันจะไปพบกับเพื่อนชายของฉันคืนนี้

 

การกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นบ่อยๆ

อดีต

 ปัจจุบัน อนาคต

ใช้กับการกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นบ่อยๆได้เมื่อมีคำว่า always 


Linda is always complaining.    ลินดาชอบบ่นเป็นประจำ    

หมายเหตุ
* คำกริยาต่อไปนี้ตามปกติไม่ใช้ใน present continuous tense เช่น
hear, taste, smell, see, know, believe, understand, recognize, remember, mean, possess, own, belong, want, prefer, need, appreciate, love, like, hate, dislike, seem,  appear
* ให้ใช้คำเหล่านี้แสดงเหตุที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในรูป simple present tense เช่น
She loves me.                   ไม่ใช่   She is loving me.             
I understand the question. ไม่ใช่  I am understanding the question.   

 

ถ้าหากใช้คำเหล่านี้ใน continuous tense ความหมายอาจจะเปลี่ยนไปเช่น

  • Tim is feeling much better now
    ขณะนี้สุขภาพของทิมดีขึ้น ( his health is improving = สุขภาพดีขึ้น)

  •  She is having supper. (She's eating = รับประทาน)
     หล่อนกำลังรับประทานอาหาร

  • I'm seeing Tim in the garden. (I am  planning to meet= การวางแผน)
    ฉันจะไปหาเขาในสวน

Active Voice / Passive Voice

ACTIVE:     Tom is writing the letter now.
                     ทอมกำลังเขียนจดหมาย


 PASSIVE:   The letter is being written by Tom now.
                  จดหมายกำลังถูกเขียนโดยทอม
