I was born on November 28, 1942, in Marietta (Cobb County), Georgia, to working-class parents, the eldest of six. My mother's grandparents and most of her great-grandparents were also born in Cobb. My father, whose family came to Cobb from Clay County, North Carolina, was a dairyfarmer, a landscaper, a master carpenter/homebuilder in Cobb County, and my mother, after we were all grown, had an antique shop.
I was educated in the public school system, attending the same county school for all twelve years. I was a secretary for ten years, sold real estate for seven, and worked for the local Bell system for twenty. I have recently retired, and am anxious to devote some of the rest of my life to my special interest, genealogical research.
I have the most wonderful husband in the world, two grown daughters, four grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. We have a dog named Baby and a nineteen-year-old autistic, Christopher. We work hard, play harder, and are in love with being alive and well!
