Marveling at the fascist efficiency of flag foes, a breathless Atlanta Journal & Constitution described the House action as one taken “with stunning swiftness” and approvingly related how the sudden move was the result of over a year of secret planning by Governor Barnes, the Democratic legislative leadership, various civil rights groups, business leaders and an unknown number of GOP Quislings.
