WHAT IS ULTIMATE?

Basic rules, basically.

Above is an ultimate pitch. In real life it is bigger and has people on it.

Ultimate is a fast paced sport for teams of seven outdoors and five indoors. Men and women play on the same team on a pitch of comparable size to a football pitch with an endzone at either end. The main points are:

• Players cannot run while in possession of the disc

• Points are scored by catching the disc in the endzone your team is attacking.

• If the disc touches the ground then possession of the disc reverts to the opposing team.

• There are no referees, all fouls are left to the discretion of the players involved and rely upon 'spirit of the game';ultimate's code of fair play.

• Players have 10 seconds (outdoor, 8 seconds indoor) to pass the disc to a member of their team, otherwise possession of the disc isgiven to the opposition.
