Explanation of the Website Throughout this website you will be given information on different Magic: The Gathering variants. It is assumed that you know the basic rules of Magic. I will not cover the rules for standard magic formats such as Type 2, Type 1.X, Type 1.5, Type 1, 8-Man Rochester Draft, Sealed deck, and Team Sealed. For more information on these formats, or the basic rules to Magic: the Gathering, please go to www.wizards.com. For simplicity, all of the variants included will be explained for a tournament environment. Most all of them can and should be played in a casual environment. Also, for simplicity, the pronouns he, she, him, and her will be used the in the male form. When you read this please feel free to insert the gender of your choice. All of the variants found in this website can be changed for your local area. None of them are set in stone that you must play this way. If you think some of the rules are not needed, wrong, or just plain stupid then go ahead and change them. They are just suggestions and examples for the variants out there. With the exception of 5-Color and Type B there are not official rules to any of the games. Just be sure to inform your opponent of the rules you play by before starting the game. If you find any new variants that are different from the ones listed in this website and would like them to be included in the next update then email me at magicvariants@yahoo.com. The more variants out there, the more fun magic becomes. In each variant there will be a header for the following sections.
