How To Use This Page
This page has been written and designed by me, Annalise Ryan (student number 11275522) for subject EMH200. This page is designed for use with Stage 3 students in conjunction with the Culture strand in the NSW Board of Studies HSIE Syllabus.
In creating this page, I aimed to provide a comprehensive and interesting text for students worldwide to learn about Australia.
Navigation is easily possible using the list of contents, featured on the left hand side of every page. Alternatively, links are at the bottom of each page, allowing the user to navigate chronologically.
The National Symbols page allows the user to read about Australian National Symbols, such as the Australian Flag and Australian Anthem.
The National Culture page allows the user to read about Australian National Culture, such as the song 'Waltzing Matilda' and the poem 'The Man From Snowy River'.
The Significant Sites page allows the user to read about Australian Significant Sites, such as the Opera House and Uluru.
The Glossary page allows the user to find definitions of words mentioned throughout the website which may be technical or slang. These words are in bold.
The Quiz page features a fun and easy to use quiz which enables users to test their knowledge of Australia. If they achieve a good enough score, they are able to view their name and score in a hall of fame list.
The Forum page allows users to communicate with each other, discussing aspects of Australia or asking questions.
The Teacher's Guidelines page explains to teachers why this page is useful as a HSIE text.
The Other Useful Links page has a list of links to other sites which are also about Australia and suitable for Stage 3 children.
