The war on Cybertron turned drastically in the Decepticons favor. They were slaughtering all Autobot resistance. The first to be constructed and the only Autobase that remained was the legendary Iacon.
Iacon was under the protection of the Matrix-bearer Optimus Prime. Iacon became a refuge for all Autobots planetwide. It was only able to resist the Decepticon onslaught because only the strongest, fastest, and slyest Autobots ever survived to reach its hallowed halls.
Optimus Prime had seen too many friends deactivated by the unmerciless Decepticon regime. The Autobots would never see peace as long as Iacon was under siege.
Perceptor discovered that a gigantic asteriod was heading directly for Cybertron. Optimus Prime planned to destroy the asteriod, before it became a threat. He prepared an Autobot starcruiser, that was commissioned The Ark, to intercept the asteriod.
Unfortunately, the Decepticon Soundwave discovered their plan to leave and informed the Decepticon leader Megatron.
Megatron planned on intercepting the Ark just after the asteroid was destroyed, hoping that the Autobots would be caught unaware and the starcruisers laser batteries would be drained. He prepared the most devastating starship in the Decepticon fleet for departure. The ship was the infamous Nemesis.
AND THE STORY OF IACON CONTINUES....
The Ark departed suspicously without incident, and approached the asteriod. The asteriod was immense. What Perceptor could not see was that there was another one, slightly smaller, right behind it. They collided and were both pulverized. The Ark was immediately enswarmed in an asteriod field. They used the main laser cannon to etch an escape path through the field. They made it to the edge of the field, but the next thing that the Autobots knew, they were ambushed by the Decepticon warship. The continuous use of the laser cannon drained The Arks power cells. They were defenseless. A tractor beam was applied, and the Ark was boarded. A melee ensued, and directional control was lost. Both ships plunged violently into an insignifigant little world that was populated by giant reptiles, that lived on the land, in the sea, and in the air.
The Ark imbedded itself into a volcano, and the Nemesis plunged into an ocean.
