8. The game continues until all the cards on the 3x3 squares are all played. The player who conquers the most cards wins the game.
(Optional): If you’d like to become a true Mystical Justice card collector, you could keep the cards you conquered yourself, and let your opponent have the cards that he/she conquered. This would make the game more fun, and more exclusive. If you want to win back your cards, you must either practice, and learn what cards your opponent has, to try and win them back, or try different strategies. Practice, practice, practice!
For Triple Triad Players: This is a tip for beginners of the Final Fantasy VIII Triple Triad game. When you are on the first disc, before you enter the Fire Cavern, and you would like to start a card collection and you run out of cards and can’t win any card games, follow this tip, and you’ll be able to start a card collection easy. First, Junction Squall or Quistis, with Quezacotl, and make sure that he learns the ‘Card’ mode first. This modification, will allow you to turn monsters into cards. Make sure to junction the card modifier before you follow the next step. Next, either go to the Training Center and fight Grats, or outside Balamb Garden and fight Bite Bugs, Caterchipillars, Fastitocalon-Fs, or Glacial Eyes. When you fight the monster, strike it a few times, until the monster almost destroyed, then use the card modifier, and turn the monster into a card. Keep wandering around, and turn the monsters into cards, until you have enough, such as about 30-40 cards total. If you get a rare card, such as Shumi Tribe, Elvoret, Trauma, or Jumbo Cactuar, be sure to save that card for later on. When you have enough monster cards, visit the town of Balamb, and find the Card Queen outside the train station. Press the square button to challenge the Queen to a game of cards. Make sure you only play the monster cards you won on the battlefield. Keep challenging the Queen, until the game turns into ‘Direct’. You might lose some cards in the process, but it gets better later. Now, you can challenge other card players, and they will play ‘Direct’. ‘Direct’ means that the cards you conquer, you can keep, and the cards the player conquers, they keep. You will win some really good cards, while the card players win, insignificant monster cards. With this tip, you can build your card deck, with nothing to lose but insignificant cards, such as Bite Bugs, Grats, Glacial Eyes, Caterchipillars, and Fastitocalon-Fs. Neat, huh?
