Henok was born in Addis Abeba and grew up there until he was 10 & went to school at Mekane Iyesus elementary school. Then he moved to Asmara in 1978 with his family. He went to Lassalle (Saint Josef Brothers School) school until 8th grade. He was always good at school. From 9th grade(high school) he went to Santa Ana model school, a school for students who got more than 90% on their National Ministry test on 8th grade he had 96%. He thinks his life in Asmara was the best years of his life. Before he finished 12th grade at the age of 17 he had to leave to Sudan to avoid the third round national service. After 2 years in Sudan in 1987 he went to Sweden through England.
Even though Sweden is very peaceful and very good country with high standard to live in, Henok started to miss Asmara from the very beginning. In 1991 when Eritrea got independent he started his plan to go back to Eritrea. He thought making money in Sweden was the faster way to repatriate than higher education. He bought all the machineries from one bankrupted Caramel factory, but he couldn't take it to Eritrea because of the demand of high voltage of the machines. It wasn't available at that time in Eritrea so he had to plant it in Ethiopia, even that wasn't easy. In 1998 the war started between Eritrea&Ethiopia while he had all the machines in Ethiopia....
He went back to school and did his Master of Science in Computer science & engineering, and working at SonyEricsson as development engineer. Even though he hasn't changed his mind about going back and live in Asmara. He has started building a house in Asmara. He thinks he will go back as soon as he finished it.....

Dream in life: Do something meaningful for his country in particular and for Africa in general before his time is up, that his father would be proud of if he was alive.

Words on his gravestone: He tried.
