Operation AC (Room Air Conditioners) was founded by a mother doing a great job of supporting our troops and getting others to help. At this site you can adopt a soldier, make a donation, or if you are a Soldier in need you can make a request.  During the cold season, Operation AC sends heaters.

Operation Military Pride
Offers several ways to help support our troops.  Plenty of resource information available, including how to and what to send in care packages.   Also offers a restriction check for APO Zip Codes ourtesy of ocunus.com

Operation Uplink
The DOD also suggests donating a calling card through Operation Uplink so soldiers can stay connected to family and friends. At your request, they will also send a free calling card to a family member in active service overseas

Operation USO Care Package
Is among the organizations the DOD recommends. A $25 donation sponsors one care package and personalized card for a soldier. Those wanting to contribute can do so through the Web site or by calling 1-866-USO-GIVE. The USO ships the packages each day on the deploying troops flights

Among the assortment of items that might be included in one of the patriotic packages are a prepaid calling card, a disposable camera, sunscreen, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, a toothbrush and toothpaste, magazines, non-perishable snacks and candy, CDs and playing cards

Ships Project, The
This group sends handmade items to our troops overseas. This group has permission from DoD to continue sending items, even with the new request. Any questions can be sent to ShipSupport@webtv.net. The message will get to the heads of the group and will be answered correctly. (This very meaningful and worthwhile project was provided by Donna Betz)

Stars and Stripes
The daily military newspaper Stars and Stripes has a "Messages of Support" program allowing friends and family of deployed service members to e-mail announcements or uplifting notes of 50 words or less to messages@estripes.com (NOTE: Temperarily suspended, fund needed to continue)
