      Peter Parker finds that being Spider-man has caused him nothing but problems, and this emotional turmoil causes him to suddenly lose his powers from time to time and the love of his life, Mary Jane Watson, becomes engaged to John Jameson. His best friend, Harry Osborne also wants Spider-man dead. Peter decides to put Spider-man behind him and try to lead a normal life.

      However, a freak accident during a fusion experiment causes Dr. Otto Octavius to become Dr. Octopus, a super-villain with 4 metal tentacles and Spider-man is needed to stop "Doc Ock" before he can destroy the city. Mary Jane Watson finds herself in the middle of things again!
