A mic is hanging from the center of the light. That way cast members could
listen and interact with them via the "Vulture". |
The Trophy Room was designed as sort of an inside joke with Walt. He actually
did not like to go hunting and did not like animals that were killed and mounted
on walls. As a joke, many of his friends sent him mounted animals to
put into the room that was named "The Trophy Room". This room no longer houses functional hidden mics or speakers. The primary
intention of the mics and talking Vulture was not to spy on the guests dining but to entertain them. Wally Boag (performer
from "Golden Horseshoe Revue") would converse with guests via the audio-animatronic
vulture. When you enter the room look straight ahead at the China Cabinet on the far wall. There is a round hole at the top of the cabinet. That hole was intended to house a hidden camera....but it never actually did. |
