Time Out is NOT the Answer!!!

Punishing children and giving them time out will not only be hurtful to the child but it will not solve anything. The child should be able to learn how use their problem solving skills when something goes wrong. Children make mistakes, and they should be able to learn from those mistakes by the positive guidance provided by the adult. Also, giving children a time out will lower their self-esteem. Children need to be able to trust the adults, who care for them, not fear them. Think twice before giving children time out.
