BROKEN HOPE
as the result of internal strife and organizational difficulties, the band
has decided to break up - guitarist Jeremy Wagner and vocalist Scott
Creekmore will use material intended for the next Broken Hope record as
the basis for a new, as of yet unnamed, death / grind project
MY DYING BRIDE
full-time live session keyboardist Yasmin Ahmed has left the band as she
cannot commit enough time to rehearsals and gigs and rather than do it
half heartedly she has decided to stop
AMORPHIS
drummer Pekka Kasari has left the band on good terms to spend more time
with his family
SOLSTICE
the British act has decided to call it quits as band members felt
restricted within the doom genre - founding guitarist Rich Walker will now
concentrate on his label, Miskatonic Foundation

vocalist Katla has not been able to sing in recent months due to a tumor
discovered on his vocal cords – the band has been using various
substitutes for live performances
AGATHODAIMON
the band has cancelled the scheduled European tour with Hecate Enthroned
and Infernal Poetry due to a series of mishaps
FEAR FACTORY
the band has decided to call it quits in the wake of Burton C. Bell’s
announcement that he is leaving the group – Fear Factory is expected to
record at least one more song, however – Roadrunner will be releasing the
band’s scrapped debut album ‘Concrete’ much of which was re-recorded for
‘Soul Of A New Machine’
THERION
Sami Karppinen has been replaced by a drummer named Rickard – Sami will
continue to be involved as he is the engineer / producer in the Modern Art
Studio where Therion plans to record much of the next album

the band has amicably parted ways with drummer Fredrik Andersson
METAL BLADE RECORDS
the label is celebrating its 20th Anniversary – to mark the occasion,
Metal Blade is going to the vaults to release a nine CD / one DVD Metal
Blade Records 20th Anniversary Box Set
BAPHOMET / HOUSECORE
Relapse Records and Baphomet / Housecore Records have agreed to end their
business arrangement in which Relapse was handling manufacturing,
marketing and distribution for the label’s releases

Steve Harris has responded to controversy surrounding the new live release
'Rock In Rio' with a declaration that there are no vocal overdubs on the
album - he does admit, however, that there was some cutting and pasting of
vocal lines from that show in order to fill voids left when Bruce
Dickinson asked the audience to sing along with the song
IMMORTAL
bassist Iscariah has decided to leave the band - according to Iscariah:
"The band is getting bigger and with that follows complete dedication to
the force. If not, you are bound to fall on your ass. To prevent this
event, I quit. It is of my beliefs that if you have a single doubt, then
leave."
ANATHEMA
guitarist Daniel Cavanagh has left the band - he is now playing in
Antimatter alongside Duncan Patterson and Michael Moss - according to
Cavanagh: "Our songs are going to be very good, and alot closer to the
true Anathema of 'Alternative 4'"

the band is on hold as vocalist Gaahl has landed in prison - according to a
Nuclear Blast press release, "his fist was in the wrong face at the wrong
time" - the length of his sentence has not been determined by the court

The End Records has secured the band's forthcoming 'The Sham Mirrors' for
North American release - Arcturus includes Garm (Ulver, Borknagar) and
Hellhammer (Mayhem, Winds, Kovenant)

the label has finalized a manufacturing and distribution agreement with
independent UK music distributor Plastic Head - the agreement is effective

Paul Baloff, vocalist on the band's classic 'Bonded By Blood', passed away
