VULTURES! Vultures are large, short-tailed, solitary birds of prey. They feed on carrion (dead animals). Vultures have a long life span compared to most other birds; they can live up to 30 years in captivity. Vultures are divided into two groups: Old World (European) vultures (of which there are 15 species) and New World (American) vultures (of which there are 6 species), including the California Condor and the Turkey Vulture. |
