BPhoenix Online Support Groups Information

BPhoenix does not tolerate discrimination of any kind in any of the support groups. Everyone is welcome regardless of race, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation, or disability. All of the below BPhoenix groups are moderated for protection of the members. Attacking group members, either on or off list, is not tolerated. BPhoenix1:
BPhoenix1 is an active and supportive group for individuals dealing with bipolar and cyclothymia and their loved ones. This is also a very informative and educational group, and many of the members of BPhoenix1 have been struggling with a mood disorder for many years. All topics are open as long as they are properly "spoilered" and not intended to attack or harm other members. The member list is closed to protect the privacy of the members, and this group is moderated. New members remain on moderated status for 60 days.

BPhoenix1-Kids:
This is a support group for parents or loved ones of children diagnosed with bipolar, cyclothymia or schizoaffective disorder. Issues relating to school, IEPs, medications, natural treatments, and parenting are discussed. Discussion of other disorders that often accompany bipolar (such as ADD, sensory integration problems, anxiety, etc) is also encouraged. This group is also an excellent place to find out about laws and rights relating to children with mental illness. New members remain on moderated status for 60 days.

Borderline-Bipolars:
This group welcomes individuals diagnosed with bipolar and borderline personality disorder, bipolars that self-injure, and their loved ones. Borderline-Bipolars does not support self-injury, and encourages discussion of tips for coping with this urge. This is a very safe and accepting group, and is moderated for protection of the members. The member list is closed for privacy reasons, and new members remain on moderated status for 60 days.

BP-Herbs:
BP-Herbs is a support group for individuals suffering from mental illness that are interested in treating their disorder with alternative therapies. This group welcomes those taking traditional medications and those taking only natural supplements. Parents and loved ones of those with mental illness are welcome also. The use of herbs, amino acids, and other supplements are discussed, as well as various other "alternative" therapies such as ECT, VNS, etc. New members remain on moderated status for a period of 60 days.

BP-Schizo:
This group is intended for those diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder, bipolars with psychotic features, and their loved ones. All topics are open in this group provided they are correctly "spoilered" and are not intended to attack or harm other members. This group is very relaxed and playful. New members remain on moderated status for a period of 60 days.

Bipolar-Eating:
Bipolar-Eating is a support group for individuals diagnosed with both an affective disorder and an eating disorder, for those dealing with weight issues related to medication, and their loved ones. It is a very supportive group with discussions relating mainly to weight management, healthy eating, and medication side effects, but all topics are open. New members remain on moderated status for a period of 60 days.

Bipolar-Working:
This group is intended for those diagnosed with an affective disorder that are currently working or thinking of reentering the workforce. Topics discussed include dealing with the stress of work and how it affects your disorder, issues of discrimination and accommodations, rights of those with disabilities, and the various ways in which the symptoms of your disorder affect your ability to remain employed or function at the workplace. New members remain on moderated status for a period of 60 days. This is a fairly new group and is therefore at times a bit quiet.

Creative-Expression:
This group is intended as a creative outlet for individuals suffering from any form of mental illness. Members share poetry, artwork, photography, and stories, as well as discuss the link between creativity and mental illness. Attachments are permitted in this group. New members remain on moderated status for a period of 60 days. Members are also allowed to store their artwork and/or poetry in the group, and retain all rights to their creations.

Antisocial-Personality:
This BPhoenix support group is for individuals dealing with Antisocial Personality Disorder and their loved ones. New members remain on moderated status for 60 days.

BP-Panic:
This is a moderately active BPhoenix support group for individuals dealing with Panic Disorder (with or without agoraphobia) and their loved ones. New members remain on moderated status for 60 days.

DependentPD:
This is a support group for individuals diagnosed with Dependent Personality Disorder, codependency, or a related issue. Loved ones of those diagnosed with BPD are also welcome. New members remain on moderated status for 60 days.
