Kirby's "Toys"
Woo hoo! I just can't resist the chance to
show off my favorite toys. :-)
This is my "Poke Boat". It's a fiberglass canoe/kayak
that's surprisingly stable. Only 12 feet long and weighing
only 32 pounds, it's a breeze for me to get to the water. It
was a college graduation present from my parents. Thanks Mom and
Dad! I love to get out and just piddle around in it, and good
for getting to those secluded fishing spots, too.
My swords. The dragon head katana is my favorite.
It was a graduation gift, too, from my sister and brother-in-law.
Thanks guys! It's a reproduction of the sword from the
Highlander TV series. The big-un is from the movie Braveheart.
A little note before we continue. The firearms
listed below are included on this page because I use them for recreation.
They are NOT toys, in the casual sense of the word. The
guns in my house are kept locked up and unloaded. If you have
children, even if you don't own guns, please take the time to teach
them the difference between a toy and a firearm. Make sure they
know that if they encounter a gun in an unsupervised situation, they
should: 1) STOP! Don't touch! 2) Leave the area. 3)
Tell a trusted adult.
My Ruger 10/22. These little .22 LR rifles
are a blast to customize. I've put a Butler Creek synthetic bipod stock
on this one, added an extended magazine release, a Volquartzen target
hammer to lighten the trigger, an automatic bolt release, and a home
made softer bolt bumper.
My Ruger 22/45 pistol. Nice little .22 LR pistol
I use for plinking and target shooting.
My Mossberg 500 pump-action 12 ga shotgun. This
is my latest firearm acquisition. This particular Mossberg
came as a combo package, with a 28-inch vent rib, ported barrel with
interchangable chokes, and an 18.5-inch cylinder-bore barrel.
My latest toy is a Gamo Sporter like the one shown above. It's a nice, relatively inexpensive, entry level spring-piston air gun. Spits out a .177 pellet at 760 fps with one-stroke cocking. I like it. "Toys" I wish
I Had
