Well, what can we say about Kirby?  Kirby's pretty quiet most of the time.  He likes to think and talk about deep things.  Science and nature have always captured his attention.

Kirby loves being a husband and a daddy.  Parenthood is such an amazing thing to him.  He was astounded that he could feel so much love for a little person he'd known for such a short time and never even had a conversation with.

Kirby is an engineer by trade.  He has a degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Kansas State University.  He followed the environmental option of that program, and also picked up a secondary major degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Science.  The work he does now is largely of a civil/environmental engineering nature, designing land reclamation projects.

Kirby has several personal interests.  He's the leading computer/internet junkie of the family.  Whether chatting, creating web pages, playing games, or just plain surfing, Kirby's found sitting in front of that computer a lot lately.  Kirby's latest hobby, sometimes to the dismay of Michele, is firearms.  He has a .22 rifle and pistol and a 12 gauge shotgun.  Target shooting, plinking, clays ... he loves to shoot.  Fishing and canoeing are fun to him, too but lately seem to be falling by the wayside.  He usually has a pet or two.  Or three.  Or ... you get the idea.  He collects most of them himself, and anything that fits in an aquarium seems to be fair game.  Fish, salamanders, crawdads ... whatever.  To say that he plays the guitar might be a stretch, but he has one (acoustic) that he plays with .
