Troop Camping Program
Troop 242 is dedicated to keeping the "outing" in Scouting by camping at least 10 times per year. This program provides an opportunity for the Scouts to participate in the complete Scouting experience. At most of these campouts the Scouts prepare and eat their own food. Active participation in the monthly camping program is essential to timely advancement since this is where the Scouts develop and practice most of the skills required for the first three rank advancements.
Troop campouts will either be 1-night campouts (leaving on a Saturday and returning on a Sunday), or 2-night campouts (leaving on a Friday evening and returning on a Sunday). A minimum of 2 adults accompany the Scouts on the campouts.
