What is lucid dreaming?
Very simply it's when you are dreaming, and you are aware that you are dreaming. This is really quite amazing, think about it (aware that you are dreaming!). The implications for the waking state are tremendous; we are required to redefine what it means to be awake, redefine consciousness! The levels of lucid dreaming go from (a)"oh I'm dreaming" and the dreamer wakes up, to (z) "hmmm, now that I know that I'm dreaming, what kind of experiment can I conduct?" and the dreamer proceeds to achieve various level of control over the dream.

How can I increase the probability of having a lucid dream?
Are you dreaming now? Most of the time in ordinary dreams we act without thinking and without considering whether we are dreaming. In waking life we rarely question whether or not we are awake. If you wish to increase the probability of having a lucid dream one easy technique is to question yourself several times during the day as to whether or not you are dreaming. This exercise increases the chance that you will ask yourself that question while you are dreaming.
