info from Alain Venditti:

Concerning the material played, the first tune is actually Naima. It starts either after the statement of the melody or just without it, i.e. into improvisation. Leo is incomplete as it cuts during the tenor sax solo. Concerning the members of the group, the bass player is not Jimmy Garrison but probably Sonny Johnson. Jimmy has indeed left the Coltrane after touring Japan and will come back in the very end of 1967 or in 1967. There is also on Crescent an alto sax player that improvises after the Alice solo and before the John solo. He plays quite freely. It is probably a guy named Steve Knobloch. There are also during the three tunes a number of unknown percusionists that play all the time. In particular we can listen quite nicely to them during the Rashied Ali solo on Leo. For the story, this concert has been the only one performance of John Coltrane that Michael and Randy Brecker attended. They have been quite impressed by John Coltrane singing and beating his chest on leo, and by the wild improvisations of Pharoah !
