Introduction:
Ham was the first U.S. chimpanzee in space on January
31st, 1961
.
Ham is also a Power Pop/Geek Rock quartet from Central Illinois
that have been playing the indie/punk scene since late 1995. They
have released 5 independent albums including 3 full lengths. The
songs they write are intelligently simple with catchy lyrics
reminiscent of Weezer and The Cars. All four members sing
creating melodic harmonies over aggressively heavy pop riffs. To
fully appreciate Ham one must see their adrenaline filled live
show. Ham live is often compared to Devo on speed as they wear
bright orange matching uniforms, with matching lightning guitar
straps. They have synchronized jumps, choreographed dance moves
that look like toy robots, and even a little bit of 80's hair
metal with guitar twirls and simultaneous head banging
