write a summary about a topic of your choice. Franklin Delano

Activity 1:
Look at copies of Stagebill from various plays, as well as
the adbooks
from some High School plays we have at the Writing Center. For this
week, create your own adbook. These are the components you will need:

After watching the "Annie Auditions", write an expository essay about
3 things you need to be able to do to have your best chance at passing
an
audition for Broadway.

2. If you knew a secret
about your best friend, one that could hurt her if she found
out (if you found out she/he was adopted, if you found out that her/his
parents were
getting divorced, etc.), would you tell? Why or why not?
3. Annie hated getting
up in the middle of the night to clean up the orphanage, what
do you hate to do? How could you make it better?
4. Should children
who do chores, like the orphans, receive an allowance? Why or
why not?
5. If you could talk
to anyone from the past, like Franklin D. Roosevelt, who would you
talk to, and what would you want to know?
6. Describe what you think makes someone a hero.
7. If you could have
a "night on the town", like Annie did with Mr. Warbucks, where
would you go, who would you go with, and what would you do?
8. If you could adopt a new cousin, what would your cousin be like?
9. Mr. Warbuck's best
Christmas was when Annie became his adopted daughter.
What was your best holiday, and why was it so special?
10. If you found out
that your best friend lived in a "Hooverville", what would you
do to help him/her? What would you say to him/her?

After reading the "Quotes from the Critics", write a "critique" of the
movie "Annie".
You may use a "1-10" grid to help organize your thoughts, but this must
be written
in paragraph form-minimum 5 paragraphs.

Create a comic strip about Annie, or any other situation with a theme similar
to
Annie's. Illustrate. The strip should be at least 3 boxes long.

3. Create a comic book with any kind of comic you can create!

Write a movie review of "Annie", using the review
grid as your guide! Write at
least 5 paragraphs telling why you rate the movie either, "Thumbs Up/Thumbs
