HalloweenCat

Its' pumpkin carving time! Stinker and Sunshine can't wait to get their hands inside the slimy pumpkin! Stinker gets the paper out and starts spreading it out on the table. Sunshine runs for the cool carving kit, Dad picked up for him. Ok, now we are all set and ready!

The mess begins! And what a mess it was! After the pumpkins get carved we always turn lights out and start telling Halloween stories. This is the story that emerged while Stinker and Sunshine was enjoying that moment.

Snowy the Halloween Cat?

Snowy watched all day while Sunshine and Stinker were preparing for the big night out of trick or treating. He was sad, he wanted to be a Halloween Cat.
Snowy was a pure white "Maine Coon" cat and just didn't know what he would do. Snowy went from person to person meowing, thinking someone would help him. Of course nobody knew what Snowy was trying to tell them, but Brighteyes (the bird, which I may add seemed to find great pleasure in Snowys dilemma).

Snowy lay around sad, trying to figure out what to do! Finally it hit him! When Stinker and Sunshine went outside to play he would make the great escape! Just as the thought hit him there goes Sunshine out the door! Snowy takes a flying leap and runs past Sunshine! Snowy ran faster and faster as Sunshine was yelling at him to come back! Snowy thought no way! I am going to be a Halloween Cat! Snowy was hiding under the big blue spruce in the back yard, deciding which dirt pile to use to turn himself into a Halloween Cat!

There in the corner by the flowers was the perfect spot! Snowy slowly sneaked over to the corner, smelling the flowers as he went, and wondered what the heck the orange berries were next to the rose bushes.
Snowy rolled and rolled in the dirt until he was covered! Finally Snowy was happy with the color of his fur. As he walked by the orange berries again a few got caught in his collar.

Snowy was so proud of himself that he went to the back door to see if anyone would notice him. Stinker just happened to look out and see a black cat with bittersweet on his collar. She laughed and pointed at the cat and wondered whose cat that was.

This was Snowy's big moment! The sun was going down he walked around the house and sat on the railing on the front porch. Waiting for the moment the kids would come to trick or treating making sure he didn't clean himself for fear of revealing who he really was.

Oh boy, was he having fun! The children were coming and each one petted Snowy. While he was having fun, Sunshine and Stinker were worried because they couldn't find Snowy before they left.

All tired out from trick or treating, Sunshine and Stinker decides to stop at one last house. It was their house. Calling out for Snowy as they walked up to the house hoping he was already found. Just as they got to the door Snowy let out a Big MEOW! Scaring Sunshine and Stinker! They both started laughing at the site of Snowy. He had most of the dirt rubbed off from being petted all night, and the bittersweet still stuck in his collar. Both Sunshine and Stinker took Snowy in and washed him off. Which he didn't like at all, but it was worth it all being the Halloween Cat.

Sunshine picked Snowy up and carried him to bed with him. After Mom and Dad came in to tuck him in and said good night, Sunshine got the Halloween candy out. Snowy got to eat all the red M&M's and Candy Kisses. Sunshine then hugged Snowy and told him he was the best Halloween Cat he ever saw. Snowy just purred and went to sleep.
