JOURNEY~
This path that
I walk, is likened to my soul,
Destination
unknown, but the journey my goal
Days of quiet
reflection, days of sorrow, and remorse
Searching
endlessly to find
My new life's
course.
Learned to
go within, for the answers that I seek
God as my
strength, for my body is weak
Listen carefully
for the whispers to my heart
Daily blessings,
He imparts.
Lost among
the ashes of grief
New answers
to life, my plea
Make friends
with grief and sorrow
For they are
now a part of me..
Wrapped in
the warmth of God's hand in mine
Walking side
by side, one step at a time
The journey
unending, full of twists and turns
Peace of soul
is what my spirit yearns
As I walk this
road today, searching for direction
Winter soltice
my reflection,
Keep me on
my path, I pray
Help me to
find my way.

As we parents grieve our children, we also grieve the loss of ourselves. For life is forever changed, and we find ourselves not knowing who or what we are any longer.Everything that we thought we believed in, everything that we have based our lives upon, has dramatically changed. As with all change, we find ourselves on a journey of rediscovery, that at times can be a very lonely place.
As we continue to reach out to each other in consolation and compassion, may we be able to reach out and grab a hand, and hold them strong, as they too, continue their journey of rediscovery.
