I will summarize this 1988 game (or 1990 for those that are not from Japan) in one simple math equation: the original + an extra hit point + new abilities + Koopa's six nephews and one niece whose names are in order level-wise, Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig von (though I could have sworn that they had different names in that one cartoon that was once shown) + extra side levels + bonus games + more insanity + more fun. What? Do I have to give out scores for you too? Fine.
Fun - 10
The original may still be the original, but this is the original with more fun and more diversity. Mini-games, abilites galore, how can this be not fun? This isn't fun if you want some new matters. Sorry. Yeah, the later levels will chew you up, but that's okay.
Life - 10
8 worlds with a bunch of side levels, mini-games, secrets, what more do you want me to put down here? The game was that fun. The game is that fun.
Control - 10
Up, down, you know what? You know the basics already. Skip this section.
Audio - 10
More memorable tunes? You don't say! I get to hear the first level's song from the original also? You don't say! I have great sound effects as well? You got the idea already.
Story - 10
It's a revenge story. What else is there to say? It's natural, right?
Art - 10
Wow! Bright colors, nice representations of the worlds, if you thought the past games look good, this game will blow you away. I mean it.
Overall - 10
One fact before I conclude the review: Kuribo is the Japanese name of Goomba from what I've learned. "Super Mario Brothers 3" was that good of a game. "Super Mario Brothers 3" is that good of a game. Go get the best selling platform game of all time.
+
It's fun, it's bright, it's insane, it's mini-games galore, do I need to say anymore?
