Bata-kun no Uchi - Game Reviews

This is the deal behind my reviews. The pages of reviews will have a table showing the titles, the synopsis, the score and some notes of the games I have played. Notes are rarely shown. Even if there are notes, I won't say much there. Most of the time, I will either say that it is my first review or that it's a new review.

Each review will be in the layout I will show below.

There are six categories shown as I give out scores. Each category will be given a score out of ten. Then, I give out an overall grade. The scale is like the one I use for my anime and manga reviews.

Down below, you will see the set of categories.

Before I forget, I have a page of systems reviews and a page of djinshi games reviews that will be fixed up soon.

Systems - List of systems reviews.

Doujinshi games - List of djinshi games.

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"Final Fantasy VI" There's no doubt that this Squaresoft classic is one of the best role playing games ever. 10/10
"Final Fight" I wanted to give one of the first beat up games a higher score. Honest! 7/10

Title Synopsis Score Notes

"Guardian Heroes" We have a terrific game of many genres! How many other games are like that? Not many. 10/10

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"The King of Fighters 1994" Here's Ky's experience of his first ever game. 8/10

"The King of Fighters 1996" Okay! We have all of the destiny warriors, but the evil push has already begun. 10/10
"The King of Fighters 1997" The Orochi saga comes to an end in this game and it ends on a high note. 10/10
"The King of Fighters 1998" Even with a few flaws, this is how you make a dream fight. 10/10

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"Magical Pop'n" It's a kawaii, yet fun platform game. 10/10
"Metal Slug X" Time to shoot down that mad man again in this upgraded version of II. 10/10
"Metal Slug 3" It's like X, but with more paths to choose from and it's harder too. 10/10
"Metal Slug 4" Ugh! Definitely the weakest Metal Slug game of the series. 5/10
"Moero! Justice Gakuen" There's the same fun gameplay, but with more flaws than ever. At least it still beats school. 8/10
"Money Idol Exchanger" The first game I ever played that had the word, "Money" in the title. 8/10 This review won the GameFAQs Review of the Week award on June 9, 2002. (I got a $25 gift certificate of the store of my choice.)

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"Photo Battle" This is a photography game from Japan. Spiffy! Too bad I'm not as good as "Justice Gakuen's" Ran though. 6/10
"Power Stone" This isn't a game about one of Rock's old embraced weapons, but at least Capcom brought forth a decent party game. 8/10
"Power Stone 2" Not as good as the first one, but it has its moments. 7/10

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"Rage of the Dragons" It may not have fully revived "Double Dragon", but this game is a start. 5/10
"Rockman" Ah, the first chapter of Rockman is here. 9/10
"Rockman 2" One of the funnest games of the series, this sure is a memorable one. 10/10
"Rockman 3" The slide: one of your new best friends of the series. 10/10
"Rockman 4" The improved Rock Buster: one of your new best friends of the series. 8/10
"Rockman 5" How Capcom pulled off a future interesting idea within this game is beyond me. 10/10
"Rockman 6" Yes, it's surprising. This is one of the few games of Rock that didn't click with me. 6/10
"Rockman 7" This certainly made up for the mediocre farewell. 9/10

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"Samurai Spirits" Like many fans, this is my first fighting game with swords involved and you bet this game helped the series get off to a great start. 9/10
"Samurai Spirits" - the second game This is a fan favorite of the series and it shows why. 10/10
"Samurai Spirits" - the third game Both Ainu sisters are here as fighters for the first time, but while it's okay as a three, it's a questionable game overall. 6/10
"Samurai Spirits" - the fourth game Get rid of a few flaws, add in new ones, but at least there's Hazuki. 7/10
"Seiken Densetsu 3" Help three young warriors grab the legendary sword. 9/10
"Shiritsu Justice Gakuen" It's fun, beautiful and exciting. Too bad school can't always be like this. 10/10
"SNK Gals' Fighters" Yay! An all-female fighting game! Well, don't jump so high for joy because of what I have to say. 8/10
"SNK vs. Capcom" The rumor came true and since then, it became the only real versus game between two big names I'll ever need. 10/10
"Street Fighter II" The game changed the fighting game world forever in a wonderful way. 10/10
"Street Fighter III" It's the second game with a much better look in terms of visuals that falters in just about every other aspect. 3/10 -New-
"Street Fighter Zero" Capcom turns back the clock for the "Street Fighter" saga and gives it a nice look. 10/10
"Street Fighter Zero 2" Aside from being the first game to introduce Sakura, this is the best game of the "Zero" series. 10/10
"Street Fighter Zero 3" This may be the worst "Zero" game, but it at least gave a farewell of some sort. 8/10
"Super Mario Brothers" This game revived the game world and we thank Nintendo for this. 10/10
"Super Mario Brothers 2" - The Non-Japanese Version The Japanese "II" is like the first one. The non-Japanese "II" is "Doki Doki Panic" with the "Mario characters and it has a debate indeed. 8/10
"Super Mario Brothers 3" This is no doubt one of the best platform games ever. 10/10

Title Synopsis Score Notes
"Tokimeki Memorial" "Tokimemo" is the godfather of ren'ai games. 10/10
