Roleplaying: a group of strange people gathering together to roll dice, argue, eat pizza, and drink wine. Oh, and it's also a fun game.

This page contains a brief history of my current roleplaying group. You can also see the various characters in Playmobil® Toy form. There are also some Photographic Action Shots, and some new Scenic Photos. And now an Illustrated Story version of our roleplaying sessions. A Prologue and Chapters One and Two are currently available. More coming soon.

History
Once upon a time, when I was at high school, I was introduced to the idea of roleplaying by a kids television programme. Some friends and I made up our own very simple system, and some very lame dungeons. Then we came across D&D, and we were hooked. Later came AD&D, then RoleMaster. Since then I've played many other systems, and enjoyed most of them, but I still find myself coming back to Rolemaster. I must be one of the few, however, as the company that made it, I.C.E., has gone out of business.

The current campaign started after I introduced my wife, Jo, to roleplaying. Jo rolled up her first character, a half-elven warrior-mage called Vasaän, and we had a quick play so she could get the basics down. Our freind Craig was next, rolling up a ranger called Khalid. He's a role-player from way-back, and something of a RuneQuest fan. Next we co-opted Jo's father, Dave. His character is a trader called Shylock.

Our first session was in the Marlbourgh Sounds, on a drizzly day during the summer holidays. They started with an introductory adventure I had created, set inside a sacred elven tree.

Since then we have added in more players. Mike and Cameron, both experienced role-players, have a Barbarian named Co-lin and a Archmage named Shaba (the Incendrious) respectively. Eleanor has an elven thief called Athora, and our newest member is Pip, who plays a Beastmaster called Niathe.

They have had a number of adventures, and the only lasting wounds so far are a scar on Shylock's nose, and Shaba's bad leg, which was recently broken. Oh, and Co-lin's skull, which had been used as a trampoline by a number of foes. But he doesn't seem to notice.
