Welcome to my site describing the basic's of conic sections. It shows several examples of What is a conic section? Conics are defined as any two-dimensional curve that is formed by the intersection of a plane with a right circular cone. The most common conic sections are ellipses, circles, parabolas, and hyperbolas. What are the four conic sections? They are the parabola, the circle, the ellipse, and the hyperbola.
