Softly Spoken
The wind blew by
The waves crashed on the shore
The stars twinkled in the sky
but I wanted more
The words that were softly spoken
tell of true love
I hear your heart beating
I know there is meaning
In those words so softly spoken.
The words roll over your lips
Like the waves roll on the shore.
"I love you my dear"
you whispered so clear
But I wanted more.
I wanted a life where death wasn't a word
Where people were happy
and knew of no war.
That won't exist and all that I have
are those words softly spoken.
