Majora's Mask is a side-story of the Zelda series that takes Link away from his home of Hyrule, and brings him to its parallel world, Termina. The storyline starts as follows: After Ocarina of Time, Princess Zelda reverses time, so that Link is a child again, to make up for the seven years he missed as the Hero of Time. Majora's Mask is set 3 months after this happens. Next, Link is out in the woods, on Epona (his horse), when he is attacked by a mysterious creature, by the name of Skullkid. Skullkid and his fairy friends knock Link off his horse, and Link is rendered unconcious for a short time. In this time Skullkid steals Epona and escapes through an entrance. Link follows after Skullkid (of course!) in hopes of finding Epona, instead he finds himself in another realm. He soon also finds that the realm is short lived, and that the moon is crashing toward it slowly. Link has no choice but to save Epona and leave the realm. The realm is a parallel world called Termina, which means that it is very similar to Hyrule and many things are alike about it. Link will meet familiar faces but they will not necessarily be the same as they were in Hyrule. One important feature in this game is that when Link wears certain masks, he will gain special attributes and abilities according to the mask. Another large factor in the game is that the moon is crashing down on the realm slowly and that you will only have a limited amount of time. Some may worry that they can’t beat it fast enough. There is no need to worry because you can turn back time to the start and the three-day cycle will begin again. Throughout the game you will play the same three days over and over, allowing an infinite amount of time to beat the game.
