COUNTRY: ITALY OTHER INFO: It's here! Finally, a Dawn DVD with anamorphic widescreen and a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack. This is the Argento cut. SUMMARY: Presented in a beautiful 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer, this is the best verson of Dawn I have seen. Although the picture is still marked in places, the extra lines of resolution enhance the film greatly. We are also treated to a brand new 5.1 Dolby audio mix - while it does make good use of a surround sound system at points, most of the sound comes from the two front speakers. Don't let that worry you though, the picture is quite amazing! It's just a shame that the same efforts were not put into extra features. OVERALL: 4 out of 5 |
