WHEN THERE'S NO MORE ROOM IN HELL, THE DEAD WILL WALK THE EARTH

This page is dedicated to those 'little' faults one finds in Dawn of the Dead. Check 'em out!

* The most famous nitpick in Dawn is when Roger hits a zombie with a truck. This happens when both him and Peter are trying to block the mall entrances and shortly after Roger's encounter with the blonde zombie. As he hits a ghoul in grey overalls who spurts blood onto the winshield, the springboard is visible by the front of the truck.

* Near the end when Blades (Tom Savini) is knocked off his bike by a zombie, you can see newspapers sticking out of his back which helped break his fall.

* During Roger's fight with the blonde zombie, he is covered in blood. A moment later every drop has vanished from his face.

* The SWAT rifles used mainly in the first half of the film are in fact BB replicas - you can tell because when Peter has just shot the zombie kids he takes out a tiny magazine from what should be the main one. To add, no spent cartridges are ejected.

* When Stephen is shot at the end of the film, the gunshot injury goes off before the actual gun is fired.

* There are various occasions in the film where the four fire their guns but no fire is ejected from the ends of the barrels.

* When Rog turns into a zombie, Peter points his magnum at the camera. It is clearly visible that there are no bullets in the gun.

* When Peter shoots the biker with the tommy gun, he falls to the ground. However the blood from his wound is already there.

* When Peter and Roger make their first dash through the mall, they open up the doors to Penneys. Peter throws the ring of keys inside but a second later they are back in the lock.

* In the Theatrical Release, Peter reloads his magnum when in the appartment building (just after he has killed the group of zombies). He then pulls back a spiderweb and shoots - then we get one frame of a helicopter landing, then we cut to Stephen who has just discovered the dock operator dead. This frame was not totally edited out for some reason but appears in full in the Directors Cut.

* When Peter is killing the group of zombies, he fires his magnum 7 times when the gun only holds 6 rounds.

* Just after the first truck has been parked in front of the mall, Peter and Roger stop and start shouting "...three more! Three more!". If you look in the background, a white van can be seen driving off.

* Near the beginning, the 'Rednecks' start shooting zombies near a car. When they shoot the gas tank, every zombie has vanished.

* When Peter is in the airport room, he hears a banging on the door. He shoots it several times yet when the zombie kids burst out the holes are gone.

* On certain occasions, you can see buttons quickly fly past the screen that immitate the gunshot wounds to the head.

* Just before Sledge gets his intestines ripped out, you can see the fake appliance on his chest (an oval shape).

* When the bikers are on their way to the mall, there is a scene of their vans going around a corner. Not only can you see firecrackers on the ground but you can also see traffic waiting to go past at the junction.

* When the four first get out onto the mall roof, Fran opens a helicopter door. You can see George A Romero's reflection in the window.

* When Roger pulls up at the mall entrance in the VW (when Peter and Stephen are locking up) there is a scene where you can see the crew reflected in the car window.

* When hot-wiring the truck and Roger says "Let's go baby, number 2" you can see a crew member reflected in the right side of the window and the camera on the left.

* When Roger and Peter drive the first truck to the entrance, Rog hits a zombie who goes flying back into a mail box. You can briefly see the crashmat that it lands on.
