Java Language for writing applets that can be sent over the Web so that they can be executed by your computer.

JavaScript Language often used for extending HTML by embedding scripts in Web pages. Microsoft's version is called JScript. The international standard version is called ECMAscript. JavaScript scripts are also stored in files with the extension .js.

Jaz disk Removable disk that stores about 1GB.

joystick Device that enables you to play arcade-style games on your computer.

JPEG or JPG file File in the Joint Photographic Experts Group graphics format, a format well suited for storing scanned photographs and widely used in Web pages. JPEG files have the extension .jpg or .jpeg.

JS file File containing a JavaScript script.
