Chapter 30: Connecting Your LAN to the Internet
Troubleshooting ICS If you can't get connected to the Internet from an ICS client computer, here are some things to try.
- Give the ICS server time to connect to the Internet, especially if it uses a dial-up phone line. The program on the ICS client may time out before the ICS server gets connected to your Internet account and ICS passes your request along.
- If you have restarted the ICS server since you restarted the ICS client, restart the client.
- Test your Internet connection from the ICS server (as described in "Testing the ICS Server" earlier in this chapter) and test your LAN connection from an ICS client (as described in "Testing Your Internet Connection from an ICS Client " earlier in this chapter).
- Run the Internet Connection Sharing Troubleshooter on the ICS server and at least one ICS client. Choose Start | Help And Support to display the Help And Support Center window, click Fixing A Problem, click Networking Problems, and click Internet Connection Sharing Troubleshooter.
