Alan was born at the Queen Mothers hospital Glasgow on the 14th of February 1986. Alan is now in his 5th year at high school, working hard for his GCSE Exams, his plans are to leave school at sixteen and go straight into the RAF. Alan has been very keen on football and flying since an early ago, he played football for the 4th Cumbernauld Boys Brigade until he was Eleven, and then has played for Seafar Villa since then. Alan became a member of the Air Training Corps in Cumbernauld in 2000, going to RAF base Lossiemouth for one week. While there he went up in a training plane for the first time in which he took over control of the plane for a few minutes, from then on flying would be the number one thing in his life, since then Alan has been to Glasgow airport and again went up in a training plane for 30 minutes flying over the Clyde and then up loch Lomond, again taken control of the plane. In 2001 Alan went to London from Glasgow Airport, in the cabin the whole way, chatting away with the aircrew. He has also been to RAF Sealand in Wales where again he was at the controls of the plane.
