The
name is Odida Camara Robert, I was born and raised in Grenada which
is one of the Caribbean Islands. I grew up in a small village called
Paradise that provided a comfortable style of living. On most days I'll
walk from home to school and back because the distance was reasonable
and walking was quite a norm among students. Both Odida and Camara are
African names, the meaning of Odida I'm yet to find out but Camara means
'teacher from experience'. I lived most of my twenty (20) years in Grenada
where I graduated from St. Andrew's Anglican Primary school (junior
high) and Grenville Secondary School(high school). After that part was
over I moved to the United States when I was seventeen (17) to attend
college and some day receive my maters in Information System.
Moving to the U.S was an interesting turn in my life, and one greatly
anticipated, being here and living in New York City is an added bonus.
The busy streets of Manhattan and the cool beaches of Long Island and
the Rockaways makes my stay worthwhile.
Presently I am a graduate of LaGuardia Community College (lagcc) where
I received an Associates in Applied Science in Programming and Systems.
After my internship I was able to continue and work part-time as a Student
Technology Mentor at lagcc assisting students, staff, and faculty in
the use of our ever changing technology. A few of my achievements as
an athlet was in my latter years during high school specifically in
the track and a few activities on the field. Resulting from that I now
have five medals; two Gold, two Sliver and a bronze.
Earlier this year I got myself a road bike and from then to now I've
covered over 500 miles of ash fault in sun or rain. I also did a little
of rock climbing and montain biking which was more than enough fun.
Life is short and I'm living it well. I am looking forward to adding
more interesting things to my life as the days go by and I move for
twenty and beyond.
