Welcome teachers! This is
the website that you can use in schools for units on nutrition to create an
extra learning tool for your students. This web-based material contains
information for both teachers and students and provides a structure for two complete
lessons. This site was designed to build on prior classroom knowledge
and provide further learning activities and teaching methods regarding healthy
eating.
The teachers page aims to
connect the website with the 'Food For Life' unit and outline how to use this
resource. The nature of the subject matter on this website is to support already
acquired knowledge of nutrition and encourage students to recall, apply
and build on prior learning. The student activities were designed to reflect
early stages of a nutritional unit, with this resource being implemented
appropriately amongst content. The 'Food For Life' unit features the use of this
resource mid-unit, reason that specific content can already have taken place
prior to these activities.
Here teachers can use links
to relevant sites with nutritional information and provide further ideas for
lessons in the classroom and online. For helpful
sites and related resources enter the Hot Links! page. Click

This site features
activities with accompanying worksheets that students can participate in to
broaden their nutrition knowledge. This teachers page provides an explanation,
justification of the activities, their relevance to the unit and guidelines for their
completion. Click on the image for information about the student activities. |
