Erinn's knee is coming along now. She is doing roundoffs and backhandsprings on floor and backhandsprings on beam. The trainers make athletes come back slowly from injuries which is a little frustrating for her, but it is better to be safe and healthy for next year.
School is going pretty good overall. Erinn just had a statistics exam this week. She's planning on staying in Florida over the summer to take a class in summer school. ___________________________________

Some news from Erinn on her injury and her classes for this semester:
"At the SEC Challenge in Alabama, I was warming up floor, our last warm up event, and I was doing a double arabian . The whole double arabian was weird, right when I took off I could feel that I was rotating fast, it kind of felt whippy so when I opened up to land i wasn't quite where I thought I was going to land. I hyper extended my right knee pretty bad. The Doctor didn't see any tears which is good because then I don't need surgery. But they did find two fractures in my knee, one in the front and the other near the back or the side I'm not quite sure. I have a knee brace and I have to be on crutches for 6 weeks. So depending on how it heels I'll see if I can be back for the last couple of meets. I really hope it heals quick.
Anyways, the classes I am taking are psychology, Statistics, English, Coaching Swimming, and a Drugs and Alcohol class which is required." ___________________________________

Erinn recently went home for Thanksgiving and had a great time. While she was at home, she went with Elise Ray to the Washington D.C. stop of the TJMaxx Tour, and went out to dinner with all of the girls afterward.

School is almost over, Erinn's last day of class before finals is on December 6. She has five papers due next week, so she's pretty busy right now.

Erinn also asked that the following message be posted: "I wanted to thank the people who came to my web page, have written me and have been great fans. I would not have accomplished all that I did with out them. They helped me keep going when times were hard and I appreciate all of their thoughts and words. Also, I am trying really hard to write back to the letters I have gotten, it's just with all the papers and exams coming up I am delayed. But as soon as I can I will write everyone back." ______________________________________________________________________

Once again sorry for the lack of updates. It's the webmasters fault. The site is under construction right now. Erinn is trick-or-treating this year as a clown. Last year she was a mouse! Have fun Erinn, and everyone else also! School is going great for Erinn. The classes she has this year are: Earth Science, English 11, Algebra 2, Spanish 2, Modern World History, and Child Development. Also, she just has 6 hours of driving to do and then she gets her licence. Gym os going great, and on November 17th she is going to compete with Jeanette Antolin in Switzerland. Good luck girls.

6-28-98 "I'm fine. We had the party for Amber (Amber Melvin, a team mate who's moving back home to Ohio, and will be going to CGA) and it was a lot of fun. I am going to miss her a lot." "I am soooo glad school is over." "I am leaving for US Classic I think around July 26 or 27."

6-16-98 "I have another zone meet to go to this weekend I leave on Thursday and come back Friday so it's a quick meet."

_____________________________________________________________________________________

6-10-98 Today I talked to Erinn on the phone. She said that their finals are today, Thursday, Friday, and Monday. She did not have to go today because she does not have a first period class due to morning workouts, and her second period is typing, so there was no final in that. Good luck on your finals Erinn!! They will be having a party for Amber Melvin who is moving back to Ohio to be with her family. Amber will be going to CGA. She also attended graduation recently to see her sister and Raegan Tomasek graduate from high school. In Maryland you can get your learners permit to drive when you are 15 and 9 months. Erinn recently got her permit, but has not driven very much yet. She is excited about learning to drive.

FEBRUARY 1998

2-24-98 Erinn got 16th place at American Classic. "I had a good meet but I fell on my double pike on floor which was my last pass. And I fell on my Comaneci release on bars." To qualify for Nationals at American Classic you have to be in the top 10, but Erinn has another opportunity to qualify at US Classic in July. You have to be in the top 14 at that meet, and coach Kelli Hill says that Erinn will have no problem qualifying.

______________________________________________________________________

2-18-98 "I have had the zone meet and I hurt my foot again, but I'm ok. I have to wear this boot in school. I can still work out so just to keep my foot supported I have to wear the boot." "I don't have any pets, we used to have a dog but it got real sick and had to be put to sleep."
