1. Acronyms
The following is a list of acronyms that you might see used on IRC and in #cfs-20s. Please don't be put off by the number of them. You do not have to learn them all at once. Just use this list to refer to when you see them crop up, and before long you will soon pick them up. :-)

I have split these into two groups, the first are the more common ones, and the second group are not so common. There are many, many more, so if you want to find what others there are, or need to look up any computer/net term or abbreviation visit NetLingo or for more CFS/medical related terms than listed here, go HERE.

Note: Some of these, such as DD, and PWC are specific to either #cfs-20s or the CFS net community.

2. Smilies and Emoticons

The More Common Smilies

Your basic smilie. This user is either happy or they just made a sarcastic or jokey statement.
;-)
Winky smilie. User just made a flirtatious and/or sarcastic remark.When you say something cheeky and don't want to be hit, use this smilie. ;-)
:-(
Sad smilie. User is either sad, or they did not like that last statement or they are upset or depressed about something.
:-/
Frowny smilie. User is either frowning, perturbed or perplexed, or skeptical about the last statement.
:-p
User is sticking their tongue out, or blowing a raspberry.
#-)
User is muddled/indicates Brainfog.
;-p
Combination of the winky smilie and sticking your tongue out.

Mini-Smilies - Same as above, only less so.

3. Terms And Phrases Specific
To #cfs-20s

The following are just a few other terms and phrases that you might see used in #cfs-20s. They have cropped up either due to the people who frequent the channel (and CFS-20s), or events that have taken place in it.

BODAcronym used for CFS-20s Board of Directors - the people who help the List Owner run CFS-20s.
BrainfogTerm used to describe the fuzzy brain symptoms of CFIDS.
CroccyThe Crocodile Hunter - an over-enthusiastic Australian Wildlife TV presenter, who's fond of 'tossing' [1] animals!
(blame Corina and Cobalt!)
[1] Apparently this is Australian for 'catching' - honest. ;-)
FlatbackedTerm meaning that someone is so ill they are having to stay 'flatbacked' in bed.
(The) Founding MothersThe three wise and wonderful women who founded CFS-20s

FrainbogHow someone with Brainfog spells Brainfog! ;-)
