Making Liquid Soaps by Catherine Failor

Review by Jessica / Rose-Kim Handmade Toiletries

:Failor's book on liquid soaps is the only one on the market. In general, it provides excellent illustrations, lots of recipes and scent blends and step-by-step instructions on several methods of liquid soapmaking.  However, this is a very confusing process. I spent months studying this book before attempting my first batch of liquid soap. I had tape flags all over my book and had to keep referring back at every step of the process. Also, her recipes are enormous. Once diluted they make gallons of soap.  If you're an experienced CP or HP soapmaker and are interested in liquid soaps this is the book for you. But be warned, making potassium soaps is very, very different from sodium soaps so follow those instructions carefully.
