RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

We all have friends waiting for us on the other side of the bridge. Here are a few of mine.

BANCHORY AFTER DARK

April 8, 1974 to September 7, 1988

Chena was our foundation bitch, she is by Ch. Cherden Sock It To 'Em CD ROM X Banchory Unforgettable (a Ch. Banchory High Born ROM daughter). Chena was my foundation bitch as is behind every dog bred here. She was ahead of her time and in Michigan an oddity as this was sable country and AOC were few and far between.  Moribrook Shelties was the big AOC kennel in Michigan at the time. She was a replacement for the first dog I bought from Donna Tidswell of Banchory.  My first one was a bi-black and ended up small. Chena was a touch over 14" and had a heart of gold.  Every once in awhile I will catch a glimpse of her is one of her descendents

BREAKAWAY'S WATER WITCH

July17, 1982 to March 17, 1997

Soakie was the only daughter Chena's that we kept. She was a wonderful dog, all 13 inches of her. She was definitely a Pow descendent for as a puppy she played in the water bowl.  That is how she came about her name.

BREAKAWAY'S WHITE IRIS

March 27, 1987 to March 31,1997

14 1/2 inches, bi-factored, blue-headed white OFA SS939G57F, vWd 67%, eyes clear
She was a very sweet dog who loved everyone. Though her color kept her from competing for her championship title, she was shown at a few Specialties and at the National in 1993 in Indianapolis. She was always shown in the Bred-By class.

BON DI MODERN CREATION (pts)

Zack, Born: May 1, 1987, died January 12, 2003

breeder: Bonnie Davies and Rebecca Sabourin. 14 1/2 inches, tri factored, vWd 51%, OFA SS740E32M, eyes clear.

Zack was a very special here at Breakaway. He taught Fizz how to jump up on the grooming table. He hated to show, and would yawn in the judges face, but he always placed, maybe not first, but they couldn't deny his movement. I have yet to have another that moves as well as he did, nor have I found another sable that has had the correct rash outer coat. Until we meet again my sweet boy.

CAN CH. BREAKAWAY'S SODA BI CARBON

CHERDEN DYNA MITE

1997 to June 4, 2006

Dyna was co-owned with her breeder, Cheryl Anderson of Cherden Shelties in Oregon. Dyna had a 3pt major AKC, and 30pt UKC. Due to an injury she never completed either title.  She was and is a champion in my heart.  She never had a litter as much as both Cheryl and I tried Dyna decided she didn't want to be a mother, maybe she knew something we didn't. Dyna died from a closed pyo complications.

Dyna was by Belhaven Cherden Gold Coast (A/C Ch. Winslow Summit Friar Tuck X Belhaven In The Sweet Bi N Bi) out of Cherden Summer Sequel (Cherden The Power Broker X Cherden Romancing Power). She was linebred on A/C Ch. Cherden Sock It To 'Em CD ROM "Pow". Dyna is OFA Good, SS-10102G54F-PI VetGen vWd clear #132634, thyroid normal, and eyes clear.

UKC CH. AGAPE BREAKAWAY IT'S TIME
(7pts AKC, 3 CKC pts.)

Meghan
 whelped 9/18/2003, died 6/15/2007

Sire: Am. Can. UKC GR Ch. Agape's Harvest Time x Can. UKC Ch. Breakaway's Cream Soda.  Meghan was co-bred and owned  with Pat Gustafson, and shown by Julie Spayde. OFA good, vWD clear by parentage. She was a sweet dog that was never any trouble other than she wasn't sure she liked to show all that well. She was very in tune with Pat and was Pat's grandson, Mitchell's favorite dog. She died from closed pyo, on her way with Pat to the MSU emergency clinic.  She had just returned home from her visit to Blue Heaven being bred to Apple Acre Blue Heaven Thunder. We are still is shock that Meghan left us so quickly. Up in the sky a new bright star has been added. Until we meet at the bridge my little one.
